Ras Mohammed in Sharm el-Sheikh. Das Naturschutzgebiet Ras Mohammed ist ein Naturschutzgebiet im Roten Meer an der Südspitze der Sinai-Halbinsel. Es wurde 1983 zum Schutz der einzigartigen Meereslebewesen und Korallenriffe in der Gegend gegründet. Das Reservat erstreckt sich über eine Fläche von 480 Quadratkilometern und umfasst sowohl Land- als auch Meeresgebiete. Das Reservat beherbergt eine große Vielfalt an Meereslebewesen, darunter mehr als 1.000 Fischarten, 150 Korallenarten und 40 Hai- und Rochenarten. Es ist auch ein beliebtes Ziel für Vogelbeobachtungen, da über 200 Vogelarten registriert wurden.
